From the multi award winning watercolor painting by signature artist Makaely Rois, this beautiful garden scene of lily's is from Rois's garden. Here the artist found intrigue in discerning the three-dimensional vision of a nature’s lilies with their reflection in the water. The clarity of the water and intensity of the reflection were so integrated that it made both reality and the reflection a challenge to paint. To replicate an illusion of space, with the integration of both two and three dimensions on a two-dimensional sheet of art paper. Simultaneously just a touch or small disturbance on the surface of the water of the pond, would erase the whole image of reference.

A lithograph print is a printmaking process done by stone and metal resulting in a edition of print images that closely resemble the original painting. The original method was devised in 1796 with the use of waxy crayons of an image on slabs of limestone and then reprinting them when rolled with ink.
Methods have changed with today’s lithograph making process however with the use of metal plates and by treating the original image so that water and inks are absorbed or repelled in the print process on print paper resulting in layers of color as close to possible as the original color from the original painting. It is a complex process to reproduce the original image, known as hand-pulled. Each print is checked for accuracy, signed, and numbered by the artist. The plates are destroyed after the limited edition has been completed.
